Are you a blogger and looking for more exposure for your content?
You've come to the right place. Here are 4 awesome tools you can start using today to promote your stuff!
I harp about MeetEdgar a lot in this blog, but it's because it literally is the most time saving app that I use, bar none! If you aren't familiar with it, it's kinda like Buffer except that it can reschedule your posts.... forever!.... Automatically!
Edgar and his tentacles ( the mascot is an Octopus ), provide a set of editable categories in which different type of posts can be saved in the "Library". So for example for me I have categories like:
After adding a few pieces of social posts in your Library, you can easily set up a weekly schedule for that content to go out on.
After that... you are pretty much done! Edgar will go though your Library and post that content based on your schedule. When it goes through your entire library... it just starts over again automatically!
Of course, you want to make sure your library is full of amazing Evergreen content, that way it is still useful/inspirational/effective tomorrow and 2 years from now.
Evergreen Content + MeetEdgar = More time to flock around ( Or do other work )
You might be wondering why I had a category called "3rd Party Blog Posts". Well, when I first starting blogging I didn't have much content... but I wanted to stay relevant and post a lot on social media.
So I decided I would share other bloggers' cool Evergreen stuff too. Yay for sharing! Except... I'm not that unselfish... which is why I use...
2. Start A Fire
Whenever I share someone else's blog content, I almost always share it with Start A Fire.
The best way I know how to describe StartAFire is that it's a link shortener that you can add blog post recommendations to.
So let's say I wanted to share an article from Digital Marketer ( awesome provider of marketing content )... I'll use StartAFire to shorten the link, and then add a few of my own articles as recommendations, and then when I share the shortened link.. Voila! You see my recommendations ( links back to my website ) on the bottom right of the page!
Sharing other peoples content never felt so good! StartAFire is a great way to promote your own content by sharing other bloggers' articles.
And guess what? Works seamlessly with MeetEdgar so you can see the benefits of sharing other peoples content while promoting your own content for years to come!
3. Stumble Upon
StumbleUpon is the bees neez for sharing your Evergreen Content!
StumbleUpon is the reason for spikes like this...
If you have been living under a rock for the last 10 years, StumbleUpon is a discovery engine. You literally click a button to stumble on to new content from various sites. You can upvote content or downvote content as you please.
The more people upvote your content, the more it can get stumbled, and the more traffic you get!
Tip: Uploading evergreen content means for more possible spikes like the ones above later down the road.
Of course... this means that your content has to be amazing, because if it isn't.. people may down vote it and then it will never see the light of day again.
Here's a few things that do well on StumbleUpon
You'll also want to make sure that your content above the fold is eye catching and inviting.. otherwise people won't bother scrolling down and they will just stumble on to something else...
Pinterest? Isn't that just for makeup and hairstyles?..
That's also what I thought as well... That is until I took the Pinfinite Growth course by Melyssa Griffin.
What I failed to realize is that Pinterest is the perfect hybrid between social media and a search engine... and articles with great images can do extremely well on there.
If you have a pin to your evergreen blog post go viral on Pinterest... you've got some nice steady traffic coming your way!
Navigating the ins and outs, and what makes for a good Pinterest strategy can be a daunting task, but if you take Melyssa's Pinfinite Growth course, she'll guide you through the steps so that pinning your Evergreen blogs posts becomes a natural thing after you hit that publish button on your next article!
Those are the big 4!
